Do I have to submit many forms or anything to get the max financial aid?

Kkuy asked:

I recently asked a question regarding finacial aid on how much I would be able to receive, and I got an answer stating that I may be able to receive a Pell Grant of $3,660, and a Subsidized Stafford Loan of up to $3,500, and an additional $4,000 in Unsubsidized Stafford Loan funding since I am an independent. This is based-on an example if the educational cost is $4,310. My question is, in order to receive all these aids, am I going to have to submit seperate forms or anything? I am not sure of what to do as this is my first time requesting for aid. Also, I’m able to receive $11,000 total if my cost is $4310? Is it possible to have extra money, because I had a friend that had aids and received an extra $1000 a semister.

It is possible to have extra money. Anything not used will be sent to you in a check from the university.
